highest priorities. at’s why we are
especially honored to be named a

earn the Most Wired recognition.
is year marks the 15th annual sur-
vey and the h time that Gritman
has been on the prestigious list.
As your community hospital, we
are committed to making Gritman
the best place for employees to work,
physicians to practice medicine and
patients to receive care. Technology
Demonstrates progress through innovation
investments and improvements help
to support that commitment.
Improving the level of care
“We are focused on always
putting our patients rst, and our
technology
initiatives help
us to provide a
higher level of
care that brings
our doctors,
clinical sta and patients closer
together,” Kara Besst, President and
CEO of Gritman, says.
Electronic medical records and
other technologies make it possible
to share data more quickly and more
consistently, which ultimately ben-
e ts our patients and improves the
patient experience.
“Technology helps our care team
make better decisions faster, which
helps our patients recover quickly
and get on with their lives,” Kane
Francetich, Chief Information
O cer at Gritman, says.
“ is includes adopting technolo-
gies to improve patient documenta-
tion, advancing clinical decision
support and evidence-based pro-
tocols, reducing the likelihood
of medication errors, and rapidly
restoring access to data in the case of
a disaster or outage,” Francetich says.
Some examples of how Gritman
is harnessing technology to improve
caregiving include:
w
Using barcodes to ensure that the
right medication is delivered to the
right patient at the right time, while
automatically checking for allergies
and drug or food interactions.
w
Delivering clinical test results to
physicians’ smartphones and tablets.
w
Using telemedicine technology
to allow faraway specialists to meet
with Gritman patients.
w
Bedside access to electronic medi-
cal records, medical images such as
x-rays and MRI scans, and the most
current medical information.
w
iPads for patient and family use.
